Also, they're as nice as Canadians! They made it fun and not-scary for my girls to go through security and gave my kids TSA stickers.
It's a very small airport but the staff is awesome. It does take a while to go through the checkpoint because they search everyone's stuff but, truthfully, that's awesome. If any scumbag ever gets through to a major airport with some terror object it won't be from one of these commuter hubs - these folks are top notch.
The two ladies that work at the counter and take care of bags are totally unbelievable. They are flight angles. I have never been treated to good and any airport anywhere in the world and I've been and traveled to and through most of them. Kudos to you, ladies you are fantastic. There should be more like you but I bet they broke the mold! My best to you both!
We flew out of this airport last year right after the goofball down at O"Hare had started a fire in the air traffic control building, causing cancelled and delayed flights for a week. The staff were absolutely wonderful at Gogebic-Iron Cty. Airport, making numerous calls to keep us updated as to our flights and connections. The wonderful woman behind the desk said she'd drive us to Chicago to catch our flight to London if need be but that proved to be unnecessary. I've flown from here several times and it is always a pleasant experience.
We are so blessed to have such a fabulous airport in our little city of Ironwood. The plane is comfortable, the pilots are cordial and capable, and the take offs and landings are always clean and smooth. I've flown on Air Choice One many times and I've never had a bad experience. The planes are small, but I just imagine that I'm flying on my own private plane. It's a good feeling. :D
